Santa’s Favorite Cookie Recipe

Leaving cookies out for Santa Claus is one of the most fun things to do with children on Christmas Eve. With so many things to do on Christmas Eve, sometimes this little tradition is overlooked. It is the little traditions, though, that children remember. This year, try making a special effort to make Santa’s favorite cookie recipe with the children in your home. These cookies are Santa’s favorite because their inverted heart shape show him how much he is loved by the children he visits.

Santa’s Favorite Cookie Recipe Ingredient List:

3 cups of all-purpose flour
½ teaspoons of salt
1 cup of softened butter
1 cup of sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons of vanilla
Red frosting
White frosting
Coconut
Mini M&M’s
Preheat oven to 350.

To make Santa’s Favorite Cookie Recipe follow these steps:

Step One: Mix the flour and salt in a bowl.

Step Two: In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until well blended. Add the egg and vanilla.

Step Three: With the mixer on low, slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture until it is well blended.

Step Four: Roll out the dough with a rolling pin so that it is about 1/4 inches thick. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter cut out as many cookies as you can from the rolled dough. Place them on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake them for about 12 minutes.

Step Five: Once the cookies have cooled, turn the hearts so that the pointed part is at the top. Frost the pointed part with red frosting to make it look like Santa’s hat. Frost the bottom half white. Gently press coconut on the two humps of the heart to make it look like Santa’s beard. Place two M&M’s on the white part without the coconut to make it look like Santa’s eyes.
